EA leaks Command & Conquer 4 announcement

Slip up or attention grabber?

We’re not sure whether EA is going to be happy about what the leaking UK PR ship has done, as the British “outpost” has accidentally announced Command & Conquer 4 being in the pipeline.

The upcoming sequel to the hit franchise will be developed in its Los Angeles studios, and although the announcement was expected ever since a British research firm announced the game to its participants, this might be a wee bit too early.

The “linked” press release is unfortunately non-existent, which either means that the communication chain is lousy or that EA simply did this on purpose just to stir things up in the relatively boring months. We can't exclude the latter, as a bit of hype over an upcoming game never hurt a company.

What we do know is that the game should have some cool new features such as 5v5 online matches, co-op campaigns, mobile base units, player advancement in RPG manner and such, but it’s too early to say anything with certainty.

Be it as it may the announcement has since been taken down, but our colleagues from Joystiq have taken a screenshot just in case and you can check it out here.
