We take a crack at what we guess will happen

So, we have been letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak over the last couple of weeks with regard to some of the expected announcements at E3. With E3 only a week away, we want to give you our top five predicted announcements that companies will make when the Microsoft press conference kicks off E3 next week.

1 – Microsoft will announce a Gears of War Xbox 360 Pro Bundle – while it seems that many don’t actually have faith in this one, we have talked to more than one source that assures us that we are going to see it happen.

2 – Sony will announce a new $399 bundle, but no price cut – As we said yesterday, Sony is taking a hard line on the price cut debate and will save any slashing that might happen till closer to the holiday season. Also, they are not going to announce a new slim PS3 revision yet, but we do think they have one in development.

3 – No Metal Gear Solid 5 announcement – We don’t think they will announce the 5th installment, but instead they will milk Metal Gear 4 by announcing some sort of an expansion pack for the game.

4 – Sony will announce a new PSP – We just don’t think there is much doubt any longer, Sony will announce the new slider-PSP during their press conference at E3.

5 – Microsoft will announce the new motion controller is coming – As we said previously, we do suspect that Microsoft will announce that they have a new motion controller in development; but other than maybe showing it off behind closed doors, we don’t think that they will actually talk release date, beyond saying that it will be here for the holiday season with software to support it.

Stay with us all next week to read about the developments at E3. We do think we have taken a lot of the guess work out of a lot of it already, but you never know because there is always a surprise or two before it is all said and done.
