As most of you probably know by now, the fifth installment to the popular Resident Evil franchise hit the US and European shelves on a symbolic date, Friday 13th.

The launch was very well covered and judging by the euphoria surrounding the game, this game will do justice to previous installments of the series.

Capcom announced that over 4 million copies have been shipped and while these are not sales numbers, Capcom hopes they soon will be. Note that ever since the first RE hit the shelves, this franchise has sold in 40 million copies.
