A new
cash saving computer system for the Met Police is six months late and £10m over budget. Bosses of London's police force wanted to spend £38 million on the IT system for its human resources department in a bid to save  £15m a year.

However according to the Beeb the project is expected to cost £48m and to launch in the second half of 2010, perhaps, well we dunno really. Probably Christmas. The whole thing was supposed to be working last Christmas but the technology is not fully baked.

A revised budget was worked in 2009. The total programme will cost £48m, delivering annual savings of £15m," he added.  Since most of these savings were by giving 330 human resources staff their pink slips and P45s, the Met is probably relieved.
