Up to 1Gb/s connection speeds

We’ve
come across a video showing Google’s next undertaking and the search engine giant is keen on delivering ultra high-speed broadband networks to the general public.

The fiber networks in question should deliver connection speeds of up to 1 Gigabits/s at what Google calls competitive prices. The networks will be open access, which means that Google will share their networks with other service providers.

The plan is to start the implementation in smaller scale and Google says the scale should be from at least 50 thousand people to potentially 500 thousand. The video encourages state, county and city officials as well as non-officials to inquire about the project and nominate their communities.

Google naturally says that the entire project is there to learn, improve, share information and cater to its users, although yours truly wouldn’t have been overly shaken if they’ve said the truth – we want to make money. Fair enough, now give me that connection.

You can view the video
, and we'll follow up with more detailed info soon enough.
