Evil empires collide

It is
starting to look like the world's biggest empires are aligning themselves for big world war for the mobile ad market.

The dark satanic rumour mill claims that Apple is set to align with its proprietary chum Microsoft Apple against Google with the big prize being the mobile ad market. The rumour suggests that Apple will make Bing its default search engine on the iPhone in a bid to take Google down a peg or two.

Of course that could anger Apple fanboys who have long believed that Apple was somehow different from Microsoft and was less evil than that particular evil empire. Using Redmond software on the iPhone is like conducting a wiccan rite in St Peters or sticking an Intel chip under the bonnet of a Mac... oh.

Apple is a slow growing player in the Internet advertising market. Its App Store has a growing eco system of developers and applications. But it is starting to look with fear at Google's Nexus One, Android and Droid based phones. Google could get a developer base that rivals Apple and kills that particular cash cow for Jobs' Mob.

The last thing that Jobs' Mob would want is an advert for the opposition on its nice shiny phone. Apple and Microsoft with their proprietary doctrines make ideal partners to take on the more Open saucy Google. Even if Apple and Microsoft are not talking about any deal publicly they are almost certainly looking into it. Apple to protect its iPhone and Microsoft to protect its online advertising.
