Hardware sales on the other hand...

Well, we can't say that 2010 has started with a positive kind of bang, as Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter anticipates a great year for software but not so much for hardware.

In a research note on game retailer GameStop, Mr. Pachter said how its 30% software market share puts it in a great situation to rake in some dough thanks to the expected game sales rebound. Their 12% hardware market share on the other hand, will do well to shield the company from the declines expected in this segment.

We must admit that everything indeed seems rosy on the gaming front - DX11 is here, the hardware is starting to trickle down and we surely need not remind you of the extremely promising game line-up we're set to see in 2010.

More here.
