Mustafa Suleyman becomes a top Vole

Software King of the World Microsoft has nicked Mustafa Suleyman as its new head of consumer AI.

Suleyman is the current CEO of AI start-up Inflection AI and previously helped cook up Google's DeepMind

Suleyman will report to Satya Nadella, the head honcho at Microsoft, to sprinkle some AI magic on everything from Windows to Bing. It's all hands on deck as they gear up to give Google a run for its money.

Sean White, co-founder of Braingels, will be taking over as the chief executive of Inflection AI.

Suleyman's Inflection AI, who were once duking it out with Microsoft's BFF OpenAI, are jumping ship too. They're ditching their chatty bot antics to flog AI wares to the suits in the business world. And Karen Simonyan, Inflection's co-founder, is tagging along as the new boffin-in-chief.

Nadella's been on a mission to turn Microsoft into an AI wonderland with a bit of help from their pals at OpenAI.

Microsoft's still playing catch-up in the search engine rumble. It's been a year and a bit since they jazzed up Bing with some AI sparkle, and they're still eating Google's dust.
