Netbook designers are starting to learn

Pictures of what is meant to be a slimmer Acer Aspire One has turned up online and it looks like Acer has taken a leaf out of Asus' book, at least with regards to the S101, and this new slimmer model looks really good, even compared to Acer's previous models which weren't exactly ugly.

There aren't a lot of technical details with regards to this new model, although it's suggested that this new model might be SSD only, especially as it has a secondary memory card slot for SD storage expansion. Acer has also fitted a D-sub and an Ethernet port which are located at the corners of this netbook, which is a rather interesting design. It also has three USB 2.0 ports, a multi-format memory card reader and a pair of audio jacks.

The touch pad is also bigger than on the current models, in fact, it seems to be about 50 percent bigger. The keyboard remains the same as on the D150 from what we can tell, although there's "less notebook" on each side of the keyboard. This also suggests that the new model will use a 10-inch display.

We have no idea when this new model will launch, but hopefully it'll be on display during CeBIT.
