Torvalds grrs at grsecurity

It doesn’t care if it breaks anything

Open sauce’s Mr Sweary, Linus Torvalds, has waded into security outfit grsecurity.

For those who came in late grsecurity is a maker of Linux kernel security enhancements. As Torvalds gets set to release the new version of the Kernal mailing list thread thread titled “mm: larger stack guard gap, between vmas” asked a question: “Has anyone checked how grsecurity deals with this? I think they have a large stack guard gap."

Torvalds said that the outfit does not care if it breaks anything, it just insists that its breakages are caused because it is extra secure.

“The thing is a joke, and they are clowns. When they started talking about people taking advantage of them, I stopped trying to be polite about their bullshit. Their patches are pure garbage,” Torvalds said.

We guess that is one outfit which will be taking Torvalds off its christmas card list.
