No I don't want to test a bloody iPhone 5

Facebook has revealed in a blog entry that about 600,000 log-ins every day are hacked. The news was buried in a factoid spotted by insecurity experts Sophos, was in the context of an entry introducing new security features for the social network.

Facebook worked out the figure by using a stat showing 0.06 per cent of 1 billion logins per day are compromised. Less than 0.5 per cent of Facebook users experience spam daily.

Facebook is suggesting that you have three to five “trusted friends”. That way, if you're locked out of your account, Facebook will send codes to your friends to give to you.

Meanwhile the social notworking site is testing app passwords that the company will generate on your behalf and you won't need to remember. This means that all those tossers who keep dragging me into groups where I get asked to take part in a free iPhone 5 test could finally be shut down.
