We were informed of a major shift in AMD's PR team, as charismatic Leslie Sobon took over the division, probably to polish things up.

Leslie still servers as Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Product & Outbound Marketing at AMD and was always doing a good job of passing the company’s vision to journalists like yours truly.

She still reports to Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, AMD that goes by the name Nigel Dessau and of course they will all report to chief commander, Rory Read the new CEO.

Last time we met Leslie at Cebit 2011 back in March, we had a chance to see Acer tablet based on Zacate that didn’t do that well, but there were quite a few Zacate based notebooks that are selling just fine now. Zacate is better known as AMD E-350 now and it is one of the most competitive products in AMD’s portfolio.

A couple of months back AMD introduced Llano it is available in quite a few systems now. In the EU it Llano based quad-core laptops sell for a rather reasonable €500. Lenovo, HP, Acer and a few other vendors already a bunch of notebook SKUs available in the EU and Llano is also making inroads in the desktop market.
