Spammers win

Websense
Security Labs claims that Google’s gmail system has been cracked and is being used by spammers.

The spammers have created bots that can sign up and create random gmail accounts by bypassing Google's CAPTCHA security. According to the Websense site, signing up for an account with Google gives a spammer a holy grail for attacks. It gives them an edge because it gives them access to all of Google's services.

What is interesting is that the spammers had worked a way around Google's CAPTCHA. This involved them sending an entire bmp map of the CAPTCHA to another site for breaking.
