Sprint to get iPhone 5 in October

by on24 August 2011

Seems now to be pretty likely to happen
More sources are jumping on board with the news that seems to be going beyond rumors and speculation that (as we have already told you previously) we expect Sprint to finally join other carriers in the U.S. by offering the iPhone.

The terms of the deal are still unknown. None other than the Wall Street Journal’s Dennis Berman is reporting on his Twitter feed that Sprint will be offering the iPhone 5 in the middle of October. In addition, rumors continue that the iPhone 4 will continue to be offered by other carriers as a lower-priced option for those that can’t afford the latest and greatest iPhone. It is probable that only AT&T and Verizon will continue to offer the iPhone 4 alongside the new iPhone 5. It does not seem likely that Sprint will be offering the older and lower cost iPhone 4.

Of course, the biggest advantage of the iPhone 5 is likely to be that it is thinner and lighter with a more powerful dual-core processor and an 8 megapixel camera. We will have to wait and see, but rumblings seem to indicate that the iPhone 5 will be a big upgrade over the iPhone 4, which should attract a lot of attention.
