Wii still remains at the top

Going against the prediction made by Electronic Arts last week, Activision is saying that they believe that the Xbox 360 will out sell the PlayStation 3 in 2008. Of course, Activision does agree with predictions that the Wii will still remain ahead of the other two consoles in sales for the North American market.

Activision claims that Microsoft will be able to move at least 4 or 5 million Xbox 360 units, while competitor Sony will only be able to move between 3 or 4 million units maximum, even with the suspected price cuts. Nintendo, on the other hand, will be able to move more than 6 million units of the Wii, according to Activision.

Activision reveled in the fact that they enjoyed an 80% sales increase during the holiday season that was powered mostly due to the success of Guitar Hero III and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Activision indicated that they have plans for new additions to both franchises on tap for 2008.
