Intel plans to have three percent of total OEM sales targeted on consumers in Q3 2008. This will improve in Q4 2008, where Intel plans to jump to 5 percent; and even in Q1 2009 and Q2 2009 it plans to stay at five percent.
To our surprise, Intel doesn’t plan to sell any Atom 200 series to the business market and it looks like that single-core Atom 200 stays close to consumers’ hands.
To put this three to five percent in perspective the Celeron 400 series will stay at 7 percent of total output in Q3 2008, Q4 2008, Q1 2009 and drop to 6 percent in Q2 2009.
Let me remind you that Atom will definitely be tough to get, at least through the remainder of 2008.
