We were right all along

There will be three socket 1366 Nehalem CPUs to launch in Q4 and the fastest of them all with run at 3.2GHz. We already wrote this around Computex time and this time around we’ve seen some Intel internal documents to confirm these claims.

We don’t believe that this is the best clock Intel can achieve, but Intel is playing it smart as it just needs to beat its QX9770 at the same 3.2GHz clock. The Nehalem architecture clock to clock should end up significantly faster than Core 2 Quad and Intel is aware of that.

Intel also knows that in case AMD makes a miracle and does return in Q4 2008 with a decent clocked Deneb 45nm quad core at, let's say higher than 3GHz, Intel can jump to 3.4GHz or probably even higher.

Nehalem will be big but at the same time, it will be very fast.
