While the SD Association’s SDXC specification has supported memory cards up to 2TB for over a decade, KIOXIA has just managed to bring such a card, by stacking sixteen 1 terabit dies of 3D flash memory while maintaining the maximum thickness of 0.8mm.
In terms of specifications, the Exceria Plus G2 2TB microSDXC card meets UHD Class 3 (U3), Application Class 1 (A1), and Video Speed Class 30 (V30) standards, reaching read and write speeds of up to 100MB/s and 90MB/s. This means it can record over 41 hours of video, which is great for action cameras.
Of course, such microSDXC cards would be perfect for handheld gaming devices, as well as smartphones. The new 2TB Exceria Plus G2 microSDXC card is expected to start selling in the coming quarter.
