Nvidia Shield Android TV now available in Europe

Although it was officially announced back in May in the US, Nvidia's Shield Android TV set-top box/console, will now be available in select European countries and retailers.

According to Nvidia, as of today, users in the UK, France, Germany and Nordic countries will be able to buy Nvidia Shield Android TV fomr Nvidia Shield Store or some well known retailers like Amazon, Cyberport, Alternate, Scan, Saturn and others.

In case you missed it earlier, Nvidia Shield Android TV is powered by the Tegra X1 octa-core SoC with quad-core Cortex A57 and quad-core Cortex A53 CPU cores, 256-core Maxwell GPU and 3GB of RAM. It is available in 16GB flash and 500GB HDD versions and measures at 210x130x25mm.

The rest of the features include 802.11ac 2x2 MIMO WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, Gigabit Ethernet, 4K capable HDMI 2.0 output, USB 3.0 ports.

It support 4K output and supports plenty of apps including Google Cast, Netflix 4K and Youtube 4K, KODI and PLEX. When it comes to gaming, you can play Shield-exclusive Android games, use Nvidia's Geforce Now cloud gaming service or even stream games from your Geforce-powered PC in 720p or 1080p.

In the UK, the Shield Android TV 16GB version is selling for £149,99 while the Shield Android TV Pro with 500GB of HDD space sells for £219,99, both bundled with a single Shield Controller and both available at Nvidia Shield Store. An extra Shield Controller costs £49,99, Shield Remote sells for £39,99 and the Shield Stand sells for £24,99.

In Germany, according to a listing from, the Shield ATV 16GB sells for €199.99 while the Shield ATV Pro sells for €299.99. The Shield Stand is priced at €29.99 and Shield Remote goes for €49.99. We gues that an extra Shield Controller will be sold for €49.99 although we still did not see it listed.
