BlackBerry maker Research In Motion is launching another
version of its Storm smartphone.
RIM co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie said that the
touchscreen Storm2 is "a biggie.” While the smartphone keeps the storm's clickable
touchscreen interface, it has faster typing and "multitouch"
capabilities. Punters can type on more than just one part of the screen at a
time, for example.
The phone is enabled for next-generation networks and
also has Wi-Fi capability. Mobile communications giant Vodafone that the Storm2 will
be available in time for Christmas in seven European countries and
South Africa. It will probably appear in the US and Canada in a couple of
weeks.
