AMD says that this test does not reflect actual gaming results, but since TessMark uses OpenGL and is focused solely on the GPU’s tessellation engine, we included it in our tests. Nvidia seems to handle this test much better, but note that HD 6800 have scored pretty well compared to HD 5800.

I think I would save the 20 bucks and move the slider over to 820/1100 myself.

As I always say: You can't overclock ATI/AMD. 2 to 5%, that's it.

Overclocking my GTX460 by 25% was no problem.

An overclock from 775 to 900-920 on standard volts, its no overclock-able? and with volts+ it might get 950-1000 - that is 20-25% if you are bad in maths

Actually I'm impressed by the cooler on this card, does the job way better than reference design. What a nice card :)

Who's talking about "900-920"? Maybe in an ATI fanboys dream?

Read the article:
Reference clock 6850 : 775MHz
XFX HD 6850 Black Edition : 820MHz

That's not even 6%.

Did you read the article? They overclocked it to 940 MHz on standard voldage, 820 is what it was overclocked at from the factory. You said you overclocked your card 25%, not that it came factory overclocked 25%. 775 to 940 is a 21.3% overclock on the first batch of 6850's, without increasing voltages, which isn't too shabby.

Even that measly factory overclock is more than 5%. But as more companies come out with their overclocked boards, look for more and more. Remember, this card hasn't even been out a week, and most of the first boards were clocked at stock speeds.

Nice looking cooler. The Black Edition is a great card, but it's not OC'ed far enough IMO to justify the extra price. You can easily OC it yourself. But that cooler may keep the card much cooler than stock.
