Computer recycler faces fines
CRT dangers
The dangers of recycling old monitors are becoming a concern for U.S. health officials.
While everyone across the pond is getting all green, there has been a booming market for recycling computer goods. However, officials are concerned that many of these firms do not realise how much toxic gear they are playing with.
Federal workplace regulators are proposing $127,000 in fines against a Janesville computer monitor recycler. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration alleged Monday that CRT Processing exposed workers to carbon monoxide, lead and cadmium.
