Zotac has launched a new mini-ITX motherboard based on Nvidia's ION platform, the ION ITX-F. This nettop loving piece of hardware features a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom 330 CPU and Nvidia's 9400 ION GPU.

Zotac packed a lot of features on this motherboard and we are quite sure that if you wanted something else, it would just be impossible to fit it on the mini-ITX format PCB. The features include two DDR2 memory slots, three SATA II and a single eSATA port, 802.11bgn WiFi, Gigabit LAN, 5.1-channel audio, six USB ports and DVI, D-Sub and HDMI outputs.

Zotac even managed to squeeze in a PCI-Express x16 slot in case you find the Geforce 9400 ION GPU a bit sluggish for your taste. The motherboard looks like a clear winner if you are building a low-end HTPC system. As you know, ION is quite capable of handling the 1080p content, and from what have been rumoured so far, it might have a bright future with flash-based content as well.

The new Zotac ION ITX-F motherboard should be available as of next week with a €139 price tag. This is of course, a suggested price tag and some e-tailers/retailers might sell it for less.
