Price wars have started

Nvidia is ready for price wars. Just as ATI introduced the availability of Radeon HD 4850 cards at an attractive $199 price, Nvidia decided to react. As of today, EVGA 512-P3-N875-AR GeForce 9800 GTX KO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 at rather interesting 738MHz clock sells for $209.99 + $7.59 for three-day business shipping. This is the G92 65nm-based card.

XFX, on the other hand, sells its XFX PVT98FYDF9 GeForce 9800 GTX(G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 for $219.99; and after a mail-in rebate you end up paying $199.99 for this card. XFX also promises to ship Company of Heroes and it charges $7.92 for three- day shipping.

All Radeon HD 4850 are selling for $199.99, but some partners are trying to be creative with some combo deals or gifts.

You can find the Geforce 9800 GTX non-plus prices here.

Now, we can officially say the game is on, and I am sure you are not happy if you bought a Geforce 9800 GTX card just a few weeks ago, but this is the nature of this particular market; once you purchase a card, a better one is just around the corner.
