TDPs are going down

AMD
has recently introduced the Phenom II 945, an AM3 CPU with 3GHz clock and without any surprises. This quad-core CPU has 125W TDP.

In middle Q3, the company plans to introduce Phenom II 945 in a new revision that will have an impressive 95W TDP. The soon to launch Phenom II 925 clocked at 2.8GHz will be introduced with 95W TDP and this is really a nice number for such a fast CPU.

These CPUs should overclock well, and the 3GHz with 95W revision comes from the fact that you can clock a Phenom II 955 at 3.2GHz with 125W TDP. AMD will introduce a bunch of new CPUs in the next few months and this is just a start.
