But not sure if it will launch one yet

Asustek has put together a team of engineers to develop an Android based netbook, but it still hasn't decided if it will launch such a product.

Samson Hu, head of the Asustek's Eee PC business, says the company has allocated engineers to the project, but he didn't reveal much more. He also said that the company hasn't made a decision to launch an Android based netbook yet.

Eee PCs are currently available in Windows and Linux flavors, and the addition of a third OS would give consumers even more choice, although it could potentially confuse them as well.

Analysts believe Android has the potential to challenge Microsoft in certain niche markets, and grab some market share from the software giant.
