Not happy with market share

Geforce
9500GT is selling quite well, and upcoming renaming for OEMs will probably help Nvidia to sell even more of these cheap cards.

Despite the fact that Radeon HD 4350 and 4550 are usually faster than Nvidia Geforce 9500, Nvidia is still selling much better. Therefore, ATI has decided to drop the prices of its RV710 based products.

ATI’s tactic is to go very aggressive with the pricing and gain some market share in entry level. When it comes to performance and high-end market, ATI is selling well, but ATI wants to make some bigger volume sales with this particular market. The price cuts and some products with more memory are expected shortly as Nvidia doesn’t really have any new chips, to replace the 9500GT, at least not before Q2 2008.
