Availability on January 5th

Back in
December we reported about XFX's plans to start selling ATI cards, and a few days later XFX and AMD confirmed the report, by officially announcing the partnership. We knew the first cards were slated to appear in early 2009, but we didn't expect them on January 2nd.

So, it seems XFX is wasting no time bringing its Radeon lineup to consumers, and some retailers expect to have the new cards in stock on January 5th.

So far, seven cards have been listed, ranging from low-end to performance. The offer starts with an HD4350, and XFX will offer HD4650 cards with 512 or 1GB of DDR2. The company will also launch HD4830 and HD4850 cards, and two HD4870 cards, with 512 or 1GB of GDDR5. The only thing missing in the offer is the HD4870 X2.

All cards appear to be reference designs and thus will probably end up priced like similar cards from other vendors. We still don't have any information on non-reference designs and overclocked cards, but we have no doubt XFX will eventually offer them, as well.

You can find some of the listings here.
