Happy New Year

Shortly after the Christmas shopping craziness, Intel plans to launch a few new notebook chips and cut the prices of a few existing models.

This date should be the time to introduce Core 2 Duo T9800 with its record 2.93GHz core clock, FSB 1066 and 6MB of L2 cache memory. This CPU will debut for $530 at launch.

Intel plans to launch Core 2 Quad Q9000, a modestly clocked CPU with a 2GHz core clock, FSB 1066 and 6MB L2 cache that will sell for $348 and the same amount of money will also buy you Core 2 Duo P9600 clocked at 2.66GHz, FSB 1066 with 6MB of L2 cache.

There will also be Core 2 Duo T9550 also clocked at 2.66GHz, FSB 1066 with 6MB of L2 cache that will sell for $316. We are in the dark what the difference between T9600 and T9550 is.

The last one to launch is Core 2 Duo P8700 with 2.53GHz clock, FSB 1066 and 3MB L2 cache that will sell for $241 a wholesale price.

The are all scheduled for release on December 28th.
