Optional PhysX M100 card

Once again Engadget has scored some info about an upcoming Dell XPS, this time it's the M1730 notebook. As with its predecessor the M1730 features a 17in display, but everything else is pretty much new.

We're look at a CPU selection of Core 2 Duo's starting with the T7300 and topping out with the X7800 Core 2 Extreme, all paired with the Intel PM965 chipset. It can take up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and the graphics comes courtesy of a GeForce 8700M GT.

Other features include DVI, Express Card 54 slot, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi, 2 Megapixel webcam and a Blu-ray drive option. This also has to be one of the first notebooks to feature a backlit keyboard. Dell has also fitted a "gaming LCD" above the keyboard.

This is also the second notebook we know of that will come with the new Ageia PhysX M100 card as an option. Expect the M1730 to be available on August 27th, that's in three days time., but don't expect to be able to afford one.
