Rumours are starting to circulate that Apple is preparing to revamp the OS that powers its iPod. AppleInsider believes that Apple will release Mac OS X-based iPods in September.
These new iPods would have similar features to the iPhone but would retain the familiar click-wheel interface. Apple mysteriously did not touch the iPod this year, which encouragedusers to keep their old machines past their year warranty.
It must be hoped that making an iPod more like an iPhone will result in a sudden boost of sales.
