Mitac hopes to double navigation shipments

Mitac the company behind well know Mio brand hopes to double its PDN (Portable find you way back home, Navigation Device) to 5 million devices.

The company plans to produce more of its own Mio branded PDNs then the ODM / OEM devices for some other companies who wants to profit on them.

The golden goal is to hit 8 million devices goal for 2007 which will be almost one third of the total market that is estimated to 25-27 million units.

This market is doomed to grow to 34-35 million units and Mitac eyes 10 million of that number.
