Another OCZ Vertex 2 LE tips up

This time its 100GB version


It looks like that our e-tail/retail birdies were on the right track with yesterday information that we published and as of today, Alternate has started to list the the 100GB version of the Vertex 2 Limited Edition including some of the details that we also published yesterday.

According to the listings, OCZ's Vertex 2 LE 100GB, model name OCZ OCZSSD2-1VTXLE100G has maximum reading speed of 270MB/s and maximum write speed of 250MB/s. We must remind you that we also heard the number 235MB/s for sustained write and 0.1ms seek time. We also heard the 50000 IOPS (4KB file size) number (random read) while we were talking about the new Vertex 2, which is an impressive number, but take this one with a grain of salt, as we will believe it when we see it.

There isn't any new special info concerning specs listed at Alternate.de, except for the power consumption which is 2.0W under load and 0.5W in idle. It has a MTBF of 1.5mil hours, standard 2.5-inch dimensions of 70 mm x 9.5 mm x 100 mm and weighs 77g. The price of the 100GB version that we published yesterday also seems right as Alternate.de currently lists it for €399.

Other e-tailers/retailers that we talked to suggest that Alternate might be wrong about the name on this one, and we guess that it will keep the Vertex 2 name for the Vertex 2 Pro which is rumoured to come in time or after Cebit.
