Carlos Slim tops Bill Gates by 8.6 billion

The richest man in Babylon

Mexican telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim has topped Microsoft's Bill Gates as the richest man in the world.

According to CNN, the latest numbers are $67.8 billion for Slim and a mere $59.2 billion for Gates.

Back in march Slim overtook Warren Buffet and became the second richest man in the world. His fortune was then estimated at $53.1 billion, compared with Warren Buffett's $52.4 billion.

Is it just me or is it really a bit strange if someone makes 15 billion in three months even if they are behind the biggest telecom company in Southern America ? Never mind, I didn't crunch these numbers and if they're good enough for CNN, they're good enough for us.
