Galaxy Note 4 is official with 5.7-inch screen

IFA 2014: Note Edge has 5.6-inch 2560x1440 one

Galaxy Note 4 is official and a lot of rumoured specifications turned out to be true. It will come with a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 screen which is quite an upgrade from last year 1920x1080 resolution screen. The Galaxy Note 4 can be considered as a regular update but Samsung also launched the Samsung Note Edge, a 5.6-inch screen smartphone with almost identical specification and a curved screen.

The Edge has a curved display that goes over the side of the phone. That is the new innovative thing for the New Year it seems.

Both phones have a 2.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805, or in certain regions, it will come with 1.9GHz Exynos 5433 chipset. Traditionally Exynos is available to Korea and a few other selected markets but Exynos 5433 chipset is limited to LTE CAT 4 while the Snapdragon offers LTE CAT 6.

The rest of the specifications include 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. If case this is not enough for you it will come with a microSD slot. The camera got upgraded to 16-megapixels while the front camera is a 3.7 megapixels one with f1.9, for so called Selfies. Both smartphones will launch with Android 4.4 OS.

The battery got upgraded to 3220mAh for the Galaxy Note 4 while Note Edge has a 3000mAh one, but Samsung promises that both devices will come with fast charging. The new S Pen is what it should get some excited. It offers much more pen-like experience and provides natural brush effect. This is something that we need to try in order to believe. The device also comes with friendlier Air commands as well as Action Memo, Screen Write, Image Clip and Smart Select features.

The Galaxy Note Edge, with its curved display, will come later this year while the Galaxy Note 4 is coming in October. The Galaxy Note 4 comes in white, black, gold and pink color options. At this time Samsung did not mention any pricing but we expect to see both devices at most mayor providers around the world.
