Panasonic's DMC-FX100



The new
Panasonic is the first 12 megapixel compact with a wide angle lens. The 28-100 35 mm equivalent LEICA DC VARIO ELMARIT lens itself was designed specifically for the new DMC-FX100 and it features Panasonic's renowned OIS optical image stabilization.

The DMC-FX100 is utilizes the Venus Engine III image processor which is supposed to deliver significant response time improvements. Apart from the response time, the new engine increases overall performance, and video benefits too, as 1280x720 at 15fps and 848x480 at 30fps/10fps modes are available. Luckily, the camera supports SDHC cards for these demanding video modes and 4000x3000 max resolution pics.

Other notable features include a 2.5" Polycrystalline TFT LCD Display w. 207k pixels, 80-1600 ASA ISO sensitivity, 60 sec. maximum shutter time and it measures 96.7 x 54 x 24.5mm (3.8 x 2.1 x 1 in) and weighs 148g (5.3 oz). It shoud be available sometime in July.
