Xbox One US release to be 11/08?

Written by David Stellmack

Leaked marketing Email indicates this is the date

News of a marketing Email that is making the rounds and was reported by Kotaku, indicates that Microsoft is planning to launch the Xbox One a week ahead of the PlayStation 4 in the US. The reported release date indicates a planned November 8th launch for the US.

The Email is said to come from Walmart and discusses the retailer’s plans for mindnight openings. The Email does not indicate if the November 8th release date includes Canada as well, it seems to only focus on the US stores.

What does leave some scratching their heads is the wording that it does not say, “Midnight – Confirmed” next to the Xbox One release date. It says “Midnight”, which could mean that the retailer does not have an official confirmation from Microsoft on the release date.

We have reached out to a number of our sources who tell us that they would find a November 8th release possible, but have no indication that this is the correct launch date for the US. Independent video game retailers we have spoken with indicate that they are still only being told November as of today with the promise of an official release date to be announced very soon.
