Cooler Master announces Silent Pro PSU series

85+ efficiency at 16dBA of noise

Cooler Master has announced its new Silent Pro PSU series, which will be able to deliver high efficiency at low noise levels.

This new Silent Pro series will feature a highly efficient circuit design that will deliver the power efficiency of 85% or more, which is more than enough for this PSU series to get the 80 PLUS certification.

The cooling is done by a 135mm fan in combination with copper plates that draw the heat away from hot areas to a series of aluminum heat sinks. According the the press release, the 135mm fan should deliver 1.5 times greater airflow but at much lower noise output. The fan comes with an intelligent fan controller that adjusts the speed according to the temperature.

The Silent Pro series will be shipped with two silicon rubber pads which should additionally silence the PSU by removing any vibration. The new series will also feature a modular cable system with flat modular cabling, which is a nice touch since the case airflow will not be limited.

The new Cooler Master Silent Pro series complies with Intel's ATX 12V v2.3 standard, uses Japanese-made capacitors and comes with a 5-year warranty.

The new PSU series isn't listed yet, and it can't be found on Cooler Master's Web site. Unfortunately, the availability date and the price are still unknown, but we expect these to show up soon.
