Shield shipping in June to pre-orders

Written by Fuad Abazovic

After E3 claims senior PR

Nvidia has said a few times that Shield gaming console would be the first Tegra 4 product to ship, with others like tablets and phones to follow.

Therefore we were surprised to hear that a VP of investor relations at Barclays Global Technology said that the console ships in August. You can read our piece here.

Nvidia’s Igor Stanek, Senior Product PR Manager EMEAI, contacted Fudzilla and said that Rob Csongor wanted to say that it ships in June, not August.

Igor was quick to react, saying that Shield starts shipping to consumers who pre-ordered it just after E3 2013 or roughly in the second part of the June. E3 takes place in LA from June 11th till 13th and Shield will show its face there. Nvidia also reminded us on their blog post where June was always the shipping date, you can check it here.

Tegra 4 will ship in June as Nvidia already promised as the shipping date for quite some time was Q2 2013, or in before July, which is the first month of the third quarter. It will be interesting to see how the console works in the real world but reviews of it are not that far away.
