Office for iOS & Android later than expected

Written by David Stellmack

Now looking like a late 2014 debut at best

Sources claiming to have seen the latest Microsoft Office roadmap are claiming that the mobile version of Microsoft Office for Apple iOS and Android devices will not arrive till late 2014. This is much later than Microsoft (or anyone else, for that matter) expected Microsoft to release Office for mobile devices.

The Office for iOS and Android platform is Expected to arrive in October 2014 and is said to be scheduled for release, as well as version 2.0 of Office for Windows RT, which will add Outlook support. The iOS and Android versions were originally said to be on track for a mid-2013 launch.

Mac users should expect to see a new version of Office for Mac in April 2014.
