MSI has announced the world-wide availability of its latest GX-series gaming notebook. Based on AMD's quad-core A10 APU backed by HD 7970M graphics, the 15.6-inch GX60 sounds like a pretty nice beast.

The new GX60 features a 15.6-inch 1920x1080p display, quad-core Trinity A10-4600M APU clocked at 2.3GHz (3.2GHz Turbo) and discrete AMD Radeon HD 7970M graphics card with 2GB of memory. The rest of the spec includes up to 16GB of RAM memory, dual HDD or SSD option and Blu-ray optical drive.

Since we are talking about a gaming notebook here, MSI decided to go with SteelSeries designed keyboard and Killer E2200 WiFi. It also comes with Bluetooth 4.0, Windows 8 OS, nine-cell battery and a decent audio system.

The price of this beast starts at US $1,300 in the US and around €1200 in the EU, depending on the SKU.
