Acer to launch six smartphones next year

Because the market is not crowded enough, that’s why

Acer is apparently taking the smartphone market a bit more seriously than we thought. The company plans to introduce six new smartphones next year.

At least one of the phones will be a Windows Phone 8 device, while the rest will join overcrowded Android space. Acer’s high-end phones will be based on Qualcomm dual-core chips, we are guessing Krait parts, while entry level model will use MediaTek chips.

Acer hopes to sell the new phones in Europe, but it seems the real focus is on Asian markets, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
