HTC goes on record

In a brief statement for Androidcentral.com, an HTC spokeperson confirmed that the HTC Desire HD ICS update is not cancelled. The update is on track and expected in July-August timeframe.

The recent rumour, stating that Desire HD ICS update has been cancelled, posted by the Canadian Telus carrier has stirred up a lot of press attention mainly due to incredible "poor device performance during testing" statement.

Luckly, HTC finally came clear officially stating that this simply is not true. Telus Desire HD devices could still be left without update, but according to the statement that HTC spokeperson gave to Androidcentral.com, HTC is committed to provide customers with the latest software updates when possible and has confirmed that Ice Cream Sandwich update is on schedule for both HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire S.

A similar statement was posted on HTC's Facebook page, with a notion that the ICS update could come in July-August timeframe.
