PC Version of Alan Wake to be released

by on24 January 2012

Will arrive on Steam in February from Remedy

Remedy has confirmed that the PC version of Alan Wake that was originally canceled by Microsoft will be released after all. What we know so far is that it will be coming in February as a digital download release on Steam. Pricing is still in flux and will be confirmed at a later date. The PC version of Alan Wake will be a self-published Remedy release.

The Steam PC release will include the DLC add-ons which were called “The Signal” and “The Writer” which were released individually with the Xbox 360 version. It will run on Windows XP or higher, but despite rumors of a Mac release there will not be a Mac version. It will not be using Games for Windows, but instead fully support the Steam Platform.

The PC version will run well on most modern dual-core or higher PC systems with a DirectX 10 graphics card. The game will support the use of the keyboard as well as an Xbox 360 controller plugged into your PC. The game download requires about 8GB of hard disk space and the PC version will support Stereoscopic 3D if you have the right graphics card and enough horsepower to handle it.

Expect additional details once Remedy gets a bit closer to release.
