Android turns terminator on Apple

Written by Nick Farell

Pasta La Vista baby
Despite the fact that Apple is doing its best to lock rivals out of the tablet and smartphone market in a court room, it is fast being shown that it cannot compete with Android. InMobi, mobile ad network, released its Mobile Insights Report: Global Edition, Quarter Ending August 2011. It shows that Android growth is continuing across the globe and there is nothing that Jobs' Mob can do to stop it.

InMobi experienced a 25 per cent growth in global ad impressions over the previous quarter, serving 126.7 billion mobile advertising impressions across the globe, and reports that smartphone growth continues apace, representing more than two fifths (42 per cent ) of mobile ad impressions since May. Android’s popularity grew by 1.7 share points to 17.9% share and has replaced Symbian as the second highest performing mobile platform after Nokia OS. Nokia OS has been down 1.9 per cent since May to 18.2 per cent. Of the top three, Android was the only operating system to show any growth over the quarter, as both Nokia OS and Symbian OS continue their downward trajectory.

James Lamberti, VP Global Research & Marketing, InMobi, said that as he forecast in his previous quarterly report, Android is demonstrably moving toward becoming the top mobile platform, having taken Symbian’s place in the league table.

“At this rate of growth, it may well take the number one slot before year-end. However, four of the top five handsets are Apple devices, and with iPhone 5 rumoured to be just around the corner, we may see a slight stall in Android’s march over the coming months,” he added.

The report also highlights the strong growth in the European mobile ad market, which has grown 26 per cent to reach 13.4 billion ads during the quarter, with both the growth (43 per cent) and a proportion (68 per cent) of smartphone impressions significantly higher than the global average. The iPhone remains the most popular handset in Europe, with seven per cent share of ad impressions, and Apple is still the top manufacturer.

But Android is the dominant mobile ad platform in the region for the third quarter, continuing to increase its share whilst its nearest competitors, iOS and Symbian OS, are in decline.

Unlike religions and religiosities like “Democracy”, that which is absolute is true for all and vice-versa. A Simplicity which Eludes. Truth like oxygen. Absolute as in heartbeat. Even though heartbeat seemed dominating and one which none can do without, it is life-giving. Are techno Infintisers in the same position? Can you do without “texting” and should you be freed of “texting”, will you perish? For those memserised by their PhonyPoddyPaddy , it is certain death should they be parted from their beloved and The Cupertinians sure know how to up that ante. “Open widerrr….”

But what of the “Master of Android”? Is he a good and valid replacement for Absoluteness? For those who can’t see through this reality, death is the better option perhaps. As observed, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely”. When there is no Truth/Absoluteness, you cannot have absolute control otherwise hypocrisy/cruelty and sympathy/cunning is all there is and will ever be, one being the latency of the other, both being the different faces of the same coin. Another Simplicity which Eludes. Within Reality/Divinity, Truth and Love are separate but inseperable whereas within Relativity/Humanity, they are not only separate, with any complement being of hypocrisy-sympathy, they need to be different to derive empowerment.

Infinitisers are those who try to be godly through the dimensionalitie s of/within humanity, namely the emotional, the material/physical and the intellectual. These realms lack absoluteness in the sense that they are myths and will therefore be gone one fine day/moment. If Absoluteness of Construction oka Absolute Truth exists, then all Untruths only exist by the grace of Truth much like Darkness only exist by the absence/grace of Light.

These sorts of ramblings are mumbo-jumbo to most, of course, but when the moment Truth/Reality/The Proof arrives, those caught unaware will not longer exist - to exist in perpetual myth - a fate worse than mere little seemingly death. Seemingly, the death of Phony might be the life of Android but both being the different faces of the coin of Death, any ascendency is merely an illusion much like those who actuallly believe that one or the other is a good thing/real, the choice between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea not being a choice but a fate worse than death/demise.

Dumb article, Android is used by multiple companies. Apple is the biggest by far of smartphone providers, and having used Droid 2 and Iphone, the iphone is superior in every way EXCEPT for the actual phone call quality. If Apple improves that to parity they will have another big winner.

@trajan2448
If the iphone is superior till now than if I want a device with:
Screen: 3.7 or 4.5 or 3D
Cpu: dual core or dual core @ 1.2 ghz
Free gps: turn by turn did I mention free?
Customizable everything? Background or widgets not apps?
Network speed? 5 to 10 megabits per sec speeds?
Price? Free or 200-300 for higher end ones? With contract
Different network providers? Sprint, metropcs, tmobile.
Camera: 8mp on back 2mp on front, 1080p rec
HDMI out: @ 1080p

Its not all about hardware. I found the Iphone to run smoother with less errors than my Droid 2, but the Droid 2 definitely has a better telephone.

True but software without the right hardware is useless, and vice versa.

Plus the droid 2 is not the best andoid phone, and iphone is not whithout its issues too.

I'm looking forward to iphone 5 vs android 4.0 in october too
Both teams have great stuff comming.

The only thing ios has superior is the tablet market. Fact not opinion.
