Google hits 1 billion visits in May



Mostly hacks looking for stories
According to ComScore, more than a billion people visited Google in May, marking a record for both Google and the internet.

The number of unique visitors jumped 8.4 percent compared to last year and it is continuing to grow. ComScore found that the majority of new users came from India and South Africa, while South Koreans and Chinese don’t seem to keen on Google.

In overall rankings, Microsoft came in second place with 905 million visits, up 15 percent year-on-year, while Facebook ranked third with a 30 percent gain and 714 million users, while Yahoo was pushed back to fourth place with 689 million unique visitors.
