GTA V announcement expected this summer

Written by David Stellmack

Development continues for expected 2012 release
In a discussion with industry sources, we were told (despite being disappointed by Rockstar’s failure to announce Grand Theft Auto V) that development continues. The same source tells us that Rockstar is on track for a 2012 release, and he believes that the title will arrive on dealer shelves in the fall of 2012.

Very little is known about the fifth release in the GTA series, but rumors continue to suggest that the game is massive in scale, making it the largest sandbox environment ever. A number of rumors concerning the setting of the game continue, but most of the whispers we hear seem to favor a West Coast setting.

This will be GTA 5 in name only!

It will be GTA 4 in a different city with a different storyline. Ok that might sound like it justifies GTA 5 but given that GTA 4 pushed the current consoles to their absolute limits and so they can't make it look any better than it was. Yes they can make it look different and i am sure it will be a great game but we desperately need new consoles to allow games to move on.

GTA 4 on the consoles was crying out for high res, better textures, greater draw distances and above all full screen AA.

This will not come with GTA 5, the hardware is just not there to let them bring it in.

Maybe Wii U will look better than but still not sure about that controller.

If it looks as good as RDR (which looks amazing), that's enough.

What we need is more than just a city, some rural environments are necessary, as well as much more side features.

I just wouldn't want next-gen consoles to come out shortly after the release of the next GTA, just like current-gen consoles did after San Andreas, which never got an HD remake.

definitely a console port, just like GTA 4, what pisses me off is that the platform that can run the current gen GTA games with flawless beauty is being treated as a second class citizen

Hope they used some time for technical side.

As for gameplay there is nothing to worry about, its a Rockstar Game so its gonna be awesome.
