Potential web site exploit causes drama
Sony has temporally pulled the plug on its password reset website for the PlayStation Network after users identified a potential web exploit that could have had the potential for hackers to potentially gain access to data.

According to what we have been able to gather, the problem was with the actual landing page for the password reset landing page; and Sony is addressing the issue and promises to have the online password reset functional on the web site as soon as possible.

It seems that Sony, despite the fact that they are in the process of re-launching and bringing back up the PlayStation Network after 21 days of down time, just can’t seem to catch a break. When you are moving this fast it is easy to have an oversight that could become an issue. Testing is about the only way to prevent problems, but with more testing taking additional time, it isn’t surprising that Sony might discover a thing or two more before it is all said and done.
