L4D2 to get user-created content

Written by David Stellmack

Will also contain three campaigns from L4D
Another DLC package has been announced for Left 4 Dead 2 that apparently will arrive in April. The new content will feature a first, which is a user-created campaign that is called “Cold Stream” created by Matthew Lourdelet. Sources are confirming to us that “Cold Stream” is still in development, but should start community testing in the next couple of weeks.

As for what else will be part of this DLC pack, three campaigns from Left for Dead 1 will be included as a bonus. Death Toll, Dead Air, and Blood Harvest are the campaigns to be included as part of the DLC pack. It is unclear if that is all that will be included in this DLC package, but as we speed closer to April more details are certain to be released.

As for which platforms will get the DLC content, no one will be left out, as the content will be coming to the PC, Mac, and Xbox 360. While still unconfirmed, it is expected that the DLC pack will be free for PC and Mac owners, but will likely cost 560 Microsoft Points when it arrives.

Why did you stick an EA logo to this article? They didn't make the game, they merely are one of many publishers. Do you also stick Newegg logos to hardware reviews?

UPD: thanks, much better that way.

But as a publisher they pay Valve > so theoreticaly, no EA = no L4D
Though Valve would just find an other publisher ofc.

That's what it was like 10 years ago, when there was no Steam. Valve would be perfect without EA. All they do is the dirty part like printing CD labels and shipping the boxes.

and marketing but why do they got a publishing contract with EA then ? Must have some reason.

Thank god. The maps for L4D2 are not that great compared to the maps from the first L4D, and I'm getting sick of No Mercy in L4D2.

This just about made it for me.

Imagine a charger on the rope bridge in Blood Harvest?

try custom maps. there are plenty of good ones.

although i don't really think there is that much of a difference. 2 just has much more out-door area's.

I am glad it's free for the PC but it should also be free for XBOX 360 owners too. I don't think it's Valve charging people, it's MS that is trying to make the money.

L4D2 improves on Graphics and player nobility vs. L4D, everything else is on par with each other.

It is MS. Valve wanted to make the content free, but MS wouldn't let them. Had Valve gotten their way, the 360 TF2 wouldn't be the dead zone it is now, and the 360 L4D2 wouldn't be 3-4 months behind in terms of updates.
