Ready for the outcry?

Grand Theft Auto IV
will be released on April 29, according to Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games.

In a statement he said that Rockstar had pushed itself very hard to make "something incredible", and hopes the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment. It will be available on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3, and Amazon.com is already accepting pre-orders.

However, the game is almost certainly going to be like a red flag in front of a bull to anti-violent game protestors. Earlier versions created some controversy when a hidden sex scene was found on the disks.
